The vineyard

Our story

In the GAUDY family, we are winegrowers from generation to generation.
After a long reflection, I created my own farm.
Several internships and training courses have enabled me to apply for assisted installation as a Young Farmer.
It all started in 2001 with the purchase of three vines, an old tractor and a few tools.
In 2005, with the participation of my wife Karine, the Mas of the domain was able to see the light of day. A 160m2 building nestled around our vines.
Each year, the Estate has been able to develop and modernize with the mechanization of all workstations and finally the conversion to Organic Farming.
Today, the Estate has 60 hectares of vines made up of Chardonnay, Viognier, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet, Gewürztraminer, Caladoc, Colombard, Sauvignon and of course the Piquepoul grape variety.
My son Baptiste wanted to work on the Estate and his involvement gives a new dimension to our work.
the winemaker
Cyril Gaudy
Cooperator winemaker since 2001, I cultivate 60 hectares of vines on the edge of the Thau pond and the Mediterranean Sea.
I cultivate the estate's vines with my 19-year-old son, Baptiste.
I wanted to convert the vineyard to Organic Farming in order to produce an authentic white wine from a single grape variety, Piquepoul.
This grape variety cultivated since 1618 on our land allows us to produce a dry white wine recognized worldwide, the AOP PICPOUL DE PINET.
To vinify my grapes, I work in partnership with the cooperative cellar and the “Vins de Beauvignac” family in POMEROLS.
My involvement as an administrator in this cellar finalizes my job as a winemaker and allows me to forge a strong bond with our French and international customers.

AT about the cottage
The cottage is located in Bessan in the beautiful region of Languedoc Roussillon. The estate is located in the vineyards on the edge of the scrubland and the Mediterranean coast and covers 11 hectares.
The entire site is classified as a NATURA 2000 protected area . On the edge of the farmhouse, a 600m² pond where wild ducks, pippins and bustard geese nest. The cottage is quiet, in the heart of nature and vineyards , 7 km from cities like Beziers and Cap d'Agde.
You will find the possibility of stocking up on local products on the weekly markets or in the local cooperative organic grocery store. Organic farming has held a good place there for a long time and allows quality local production.
